    The Challenge

    Our customer provides water and wastewater services to more than 1.8 million people. Their long‑term strategy uses new technology to maintain assets more cost‑effectively and reduce service interruptions. Since 2016, they have used IoT devices to better understand asset performance and move toward preventative maintenance. The next stage of their IoT program required adopting newer technology while still managing their ageing devices without increasing day‑to‑day workload.

    The Solution

    With tight deadlines to upgrade old IoT systems and roll out new ones, our customer needed a practical path forward. We worked with key teams to agree on a staged rebuild of their environment so new IoT projects could continue while the new Enterprise IoT Platform was designed and delivered. The new platform uses common communication methods, centralizes data collection and storage, and makes support easier. It also aligns with modern industrial IoT approaches, preparing the customer for future expansion.
