    The Challenge

Our customer, a healthcare provider needed to rapidly scale virtual care during COVID‑19 to keep patients and staff safe, all while preparing for rising demand as borders reopened. With no new funding available, they had to rely on existing technology instead of investing in new hardware. They also faced the challenge of connecting many different systems across ambulances, hospitals and community services, and ensuring the final model was easy for both clinicians and patients to use.

    The Solution

Our team helped strengthen the provider’s virtual care model by making better use of the technology they already had. We mapped current systems, identified gaps and opportunities, and connected tools across ambulances, hospitals and community services. We focused on improving the patient journey, standardizing how virtual care was delivered, and making the model easier for clinicians to use. By optimizing rather than replacing systems, we enabled fast, practical improvements that were simple to adopt and built to last.

    The Results

Virtual care implementation eased pressure on emergency departments.

Using existing tech avoided over $100 million in new costs.

Improved access supported more than 2,000 patients with 75% ED avoidance.
