AT A GLANCE
Modernization Without Losing Momentum
A global financial services organization operating across 58 countries faced a challenge common to every major bank: modernize fast enough to meet shifting customer expectations, regulatory demands and competitive pressure, without compromising the stability of the systems the business depends on every day.
What began in corporate and institutional banking in 2008 grew into a partnership spanning wealth, data, enterprise technology and cybersecurity. Today, Synechron teams support everything from cloud migration and platform engineering to regulatory change, customer channels and day-to-day operations.
This is not the story of a single transformation program. It is the story of how deep domain expertise, long-term knowledge and consistent delivery help a global bank adapt to continuous change.

THE BUSINESS CONTEXT
A Global Bank Under Constant Pressure to Change
Global banking transformation does not arrive as one clean program. Regulatory requirements continue to reshape reporting, controls and capital management. Customers expect intuitive digital channels. Legacy platforms reach end of support. Cloud adoption, real-time analytics and automation create new opportunities, while cybersecurity risks continue to evolve.
The organization needed to modernize established platforms, replace ageing third-party technology, consolidate data, strengthen common enterprise services and accelerate digital banking. It also needed the flexibility to respond as priorities changed across business lines and regions.
“In banking, transformation is continuous. The delivery model has to be built for that reality.”

THE RELATIONSHIP
From Specialist Support to Enterprise Reach
The relationship began in 2008 within corporate and institutional banking. Following Synechron’s acquisition of CrossBridge in 2015, the engagement continued under Synechron and expanded beyond its original focus.
Early work in trading and operations created a foundation of domain knowledge and trust. As the bank’s priorities broadened, Synechron teams moved into retail and private banking channels, enterprise data, shared technology platforms and cybersecurity. The model remained deliberately flexible: specialists embedded within client teams across development, business analysis, testing, infrastructure and operational support.
Long-standing relationships can easily become static. Here, the scope continued to evolve with the client’s agenda, from regulatory delivery and legacy modernization to cloud, mobile banking, real-time data and emerging AI opportunities.

LOOKING AHEAD
The Next Chapter is Already Taking Shape
The client continues to explore cloud-native development, real-time data processing, AI-assisted engineering, AI-enabled customer service and future agentic AI capabilities. Legacy modernization, digital banking, emerging regulation and cybersecurity remain active priorities.
For Synechron, the opportunity is to apply the institutional knowledge built across the relationship to the next wave of change. That means helping move promising technologies beyond exploration while maintaining the governance, resilience and control expected of a global bank.
OUR POINT OF VIEW
Transformation Compounds When Knowledge Stays
The common assumption is that transformation is delivered program by program. In complex banks, the bigger advantage comes from continuity across programs. When teams retain knowledge of the platforms, controls and business context, each new initiative starts further ahead. Long-standing partnerships create value when they compound that knowledge, challenge old decisions and keep adapting to the next priority.
