    The Challenge

    Our client, a global retirement benefits provider, acquired a company running its Advice2Pay billing and reporting system on Heroku. This setup caused integration challenges, cost and pricing issues, delays, storage limits and privacy concerns. To resolve these and align with their cloud strategy, the decision was made to migrate the application to AWS IaaS.

    The Solution

    The app was built in PHP, which our client didn’t support. Synechron was chosen to guide transformation and migration. We used Terraform and Jenkins to set up EC2, RDS for PostgreSQL and S3, refactored PHP for Amazon Linux, and deployed across two AWS zones using blue/green strategies. The system runs as immutable infrastructure, with AWS-native services for monitoring, backup and full security integration.
