The Challenge

This South Australian government department embarked on a statewide transformation of education services, drawing on years of data from parents, teachers, students and the wider community. They aimed to design a modern management system to improve learning outcomes and strengthen student care, replacing disparate legacy systems across 960 school sites. This required deep understanding of the technical landscape, extensive stakeholder engagement and the definition of thousands of functional requirements to support an integrated, secure and flexible system.

The Solution

Synechron led the definition and design of the new education management system, conducting extensive interviews and workshops across schools and corporate teams. More than 3,500 functional requirements were elicited, ensuring full coverage of touchpoints. Pragmatic processes were established for data gathering and business engagement, standardising workflows across sites. We also provided expert advisory support for vendor assessment, evaluating market solutions and recommending the option best aligned to strategic and technical needs.
