    The Challenge

    Our client, a global financial services provider, needed to remove risk from their aging on-prem infrastructure and boost efficiency with greater automation.

    Key deliverables included: removing end of life services; providing a utility-based cost model; modernizing the DR solution; supplying business units with cloud experience; minimizing business impact; migrating the estate; updating ways of working; and delivery of training resources and support.

    There was a significant risk of commercial impact if the final delivery date was missed.

    The Solution

    Using our Strategic Solution Development framework (SSD), four vendors were shortlist from 30, with the HPE Private Cloud Enterprise Stack strategic solution selected.

    We developed a full business case and architectural design, alongside a new target operating model, technical implementation and workload migration plan, with supporting training material.

    A fully managed private cloud solution was installed, configured and implemented in four data centers, within six months, with our automation-first strategy creating a ‘zero touch’ solution.

    We employed an agile methodology to foster collaboration between third-party vendors and internal SMEs, working backwards strategically from the delivery deadline.

    We utilized a prescriptive framework to ensure a data-driven, transparent vendor selection process that met all requirements.

    Commercial

    We assisted with commercial discussions to ensure transparency and deliver business value.

    Design and development

    Leveraging agile methodologies, we developed detailed designs, automations and complex integrations, to meet security, regulatory, and operational requirements.

    Delivery

    Using standard engineering practices, the solution was deployed and tested in four locations.

    Rehost

    Following a standard migration pattern, 3,000+ servers were rehosted, without down time or business impact, during existing maintenance windows.
