UI and UX designing
My role as Lead Designer in Synechron’s London office encompasses many different tasks, but it could be summarised as giving ours and our clients' products a face. As a UX designer, it is my job to gather as much information as I can get my hands on by speaking with our clients and their users to truly understand the “Why” of a product, before moving on to the “How”. And as a UI designer, I make sure that the proposed solutions not only work, but are inherently simple and make the often incredibly complex needs of our clients as easy to navigate as possible.
A DAY IN THE LIFE

Perfect environment for me to grow as a designer
I joined Synechron as I saw it as the perfect environment for me to grow as a designer. Coming from a branding and advertising background, I had a strong skillset in terms of Graphic Design, but I wanted to evolve into the fast-growing industry of UX/UI design and to create user-driven experiences. Since joining, I have had the opportunity to work with the world's top banking brands to deliver truly usable and beautiful interface designs.
Degree in Graphic Design and Creative Imaging
I came from a branding and advertising background in Northern Ireland where I worked with a wide and diverse roster of clients including Coca Cola, Mirror Media and The Royal Bank of Scotland. This experience was essential for my development as a designer, as it gave me the ability to work to a very high standard in a very short period of time. In terms of qualifications, I have a BA (Hons) Degree in Graphic Design and Creative Imaging.
Cooking, Playing the Guitar and restoring vintage bikes
As much as I love designing digital graphics and interfaces, it can get a little taxing staring at a screen all day so I love getting a bit more hands on by making things “in the real world”. One of my most notable projects has been restoring a vintage Peugeot racing bike to its former glory. I love to cook and explore new recipes from all over the world, and if I have a bit of time after that I dabble with a bit of guitar.
