In April 2016 the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) was adopted. The GDPR replaces the Data Protection Directive 95/46/EC and is the most important change in data privacy regulation in past 20 years. Its goal is to harmonize data privacy laws across Europe, while protecting and empowering all EU citizens data privacy. GDPR, which applies from the 25th of May 2018, will reshape the way organizations across the region approach data privacy. GDPR impacts every organization that deals with personal data – meaning that if an organization has one employee - GDPR applies.
We developed a training in which you will learn about the GDPR in a 4-hour training course. During the session, we will explain in detail the GDPR scope, concepts like data ‘Privacy by design and default’ and ‘Data portability’, and ramifications of the regulation for the financial sector. We will also cover the relation and differences between the Data Protection Directive and GDPR. Finally, we will end with an interactive discussion on how GDPR will impact your role and organization and how to approach the GDPR compliance.
