Hadoop Developer [5+ years]

Overview

As a Hadoop Developer, you will work with development teams across the business to assess the organization’s big data infrastructure and design/code Hadoop applications. You should be an expert in object-oriented analysis and have the ability to learn and apply programming concepts to your work. Strong communication skills will be critical to this role as you’ll be interacting with internal and external business partners. 

Responsibilities

  • Meeting with the development team to assess the company's big data infrastructure 
  • Designing and coding Hadoop applications to analyze data collections 
  • Creating data processing frameworks 
  • Extracting data and isolating data clusters 
  • Testing scripts and analyzing results 

Requirements

You are:

  • An expert in objected-oriented analysis and design across a variety of platforms 
  • An excellent problem-solver with strong analytical skills 
  • Experienced with adaptive and responsive development techniques 
  • Passionate about learning and applying programming concepts 
  • Able to effectively communicate with internal and external business partners 
  • Experienced in Spark Scala/Pyspark development and optimization 
  • Experienced in hive performance tuning 
  • Knowledgeable about the Hadoop ecosystem 
  • Equipped with SDLC expertise 

It would be great if you also had:

  • Impala experience 
  • Unix shell scripting experience 
  • Platform management experience 
  • Azure cloud experience
