Implementation of Securities Financing Transaction Reporting

As a result of the new Security Finance Transaction Regulation (SFTR) which came into effect on July 15, 2020, Synechron was engaged to manage the SFTR implementation project for a client. This included providing in-depth knowledge of this regulation and related products (Repo, Buy-sell back, Securities Lending, and Margin Lending) and coordinating the overall implementation.

Knowledge + Vendor Selection + Implementation

Synechron’s delivery of this program included:

  • Leveraging our in-depth knowledge of transaction reporting regulations and (Treasury) products under SFTR
  • Coordinating the transaction reporting vendor selection process, and advising on the subsequent Design Partnership with this selected vendor, to design/develop their solution
  • Managing the overall implementation from a business operations perspective, including the front-office, and the IT perspective
  • Securing alignment between Legal, Compliance, Treasury Business and Front-office with Back-office and IT departments
