Deliver complex and transformational change
As head of our UK Data & Analytics practice I help to develop our capabilities and propositions. Recently, I have been focused on aligning with our global Data Science Centre of Excellence and our associated Accelerator program which is built on top of our own scalable in-house platform. In my client facing roles, I deliver large, complex transformation programs. I focus on the people, process, data, control and technology aspect of operating model change, with a strong bias towards data which helps me understand processes and solutions from the bottom up. Ultimately, I like solving problems for clients by creating plans, frameworks and solutions; incorporating a variety of different perspectives and my own knowledge and experience.
A DAY IN THE LIFE
Matt works closely with the clients to solve complex business challenges.
To innovate, thrive and become part of a journey
Synechron is focused only on Financial Services clients which aligns well with my own 15+ years in Investment Banking (Operations and Finance). I enjoy working with smart, talented people with diverse skills – Synechron brings together the ‘power of 3’ across its Consulting, Digital and Technology service lines. Synechron is an innovative consulting firm which invests in research and development through our ‘Accelerators,’ which help to accelerate our own learning and our client deliveries. And finally, Synechron has ambitious plans and it’s exciting to be part of a firm during a crucial part of its growth journey.
Seasoned Investment Banker
I have over 15 years’ experience in Investment Banking at multiple banks and also worked for previous consultancies. I have a Bachelor’s Degree (BSc.) in Physics from Imperial College, London, a well as a Masters in Software Development (although I haven’t written a line of code for over 10 years!). I am also a PRINCE2 Practitioner, but I am experienced in Agile and not a dogmatic follower of methodology.
Music, Sports and Building a Home
I like reading about Economics and Business Strategy (for work) and History and Design (for fun). I love cycling (for a solo challenge), tennis (for the competition) and skiing (for the sheer joy). I enjoy collecting and listening to music especially indie and house – I’ve stopped buying records now, but I try and keep up to date with a few podcasts and digital downloads. Right now, all of my interests have taken a back seat as I have a young son to raise and a family home to renovate!
